Frequent Q and A

What is the difference between XL and XXL?

The only difference is in size.
XL is 60% from XXL block size.

XXL are 7.87x3.94x3.94in (20x10x10cm).

XL are 5.11x2.56x2.56in (13x6.5x6.5cm).

Can my child sit on these blocks?

Yes! And grown-ups can also sit and even stand on these blocks. Just make sure you even out the weight by covering the blocks with a flat surface. Certified average weight hold is 59 lb. / 27kg for an XXL block and 53 lb. / 24kg for the XL version. Look through the video to see GIGI Bloks in action.

How much space does it require?

GIGI is a big toy. That's why kids love it so much. That’s what will make your child’s experience special! When blocks are not used, simply arrange them in a tower and swiftly slide them in the corner, or stack them by the wall. Look at these pictures to understand how compact GIGI Bloks can become after all the epic playtime.

What can you build with each set?

I would argue imagination is a limit. And the absence of instructions in our toy sets is intentional, we do not want to limit the imagination of kids. However to help stir your imagination, visit GALLERY. Look at circle symbol in the right upper corner. You will see which set we used to build the structure. Besides our gallery, the freshest ideas are on our instagram wall. We are excited to see all GIGI fans to add their creations with #gigibloks and #gigibuild. Join!

Are GIGI Bloks eco-friendly?

That is one of core values of GIGI Bloks. The required raw material is produced from sustainable tree plantations. Our designers worked with paper producers for more than a year to find the best cardboard for toys - one that is both nature and user-friendly, as well as of the right density and firmness. GiGi blocks cardboard is made from Finnish unbleached softwood pulp with no recovered paper added. Even the glue used in cardboard production is organic and consists mainly of food-grade wheat starch. The safety of this paper is confirmed by the fact that it is certified for use in direct contact with any type of food. You can even try and eat the cardboard block itself, though we would recommend a different approach.

Look, here is the whole process, how we manufacture GIGI Bloks.

Which set would be best for my child?
All of our building block sets are suitable for children starting at the age of 3. However, gift sets are most suitable for children from the age of 5 - that's because they include label sheets and stencils, for drawing your own labels, coloring and cutting them out. Still, we always suggest first-time customers go with our classic product:  the set of 100 XXL. It is the best seller and also most closely captivates the idea of GIGI Bloks - be great and build big! Other than that, you should choose whichever set you like the most!

How quickly can I get my order delivered?
It really depends on your country of residency.
Usually:

  • Deliveries in Europe arrive in 3 - 8 working days,
  • In the US and rest of the world, delivery can take up to 14 working days.

However, you can always specify your requested delivery date when ordering and sometimes we can prioritize your order to make it appear at the TOP of the delivery list, so your kid gets his toy in time for his or her special day.
Check out delivery details and rules here.

Can I fold and unfold my building blocks several times?
Sure. We have tested this and you can safely fold and unfold these blocks for up to 8 times. After that the blocks might become a bit loose. However, we suggest doing that only when really necessary–like moving to a new place or storing your blocks for a young future builder. Other than that you can easily store these blocks by making the simple structures mentioned earlier.
